ZISS42D
Monogram ZISS42D Stainless Dispenser Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Lever, chute and flow
- Filter condition
- Inlet valve and line
- Wide door gaskets
- Fan and defrost
The ZISS42D is a Monogram 42 inch built-in stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator with a black dispenser and SmartWater filtration, listed for 2000 through 2021. Its footprint is 42 inches wide by 24 3/4 inches deep, 84 inches high, holding 25.70 cubic feet.
When water slows at the dispenser, we start with the filter, then the inlet valve and the line. A lever that does not respond sends us to the switch and the door wiring. On the cooling side we look at the gaskets on the wide doors, the evaporator fan and the defrost system when temperatures drift.
The label settles the model and serial before we order parts. A written price is given first, and our workmanship carries 30 days of warranty.

What are the measurements of the ZISS42D?
The brand gives 42 inches for width, 84 inches for height and 24 3/4 inches for depth, plus 25.70 cubic feet of space. We use those figures when we plan access to the water line.
Why is the dispenser slow on a stainless built-in?
The finish has no effect on flow. A spent filter or a weak inlet valve is the usual cause, so we check those first, then the supply line and the lever switch.
How do you tell this from the ZISB42D?
Both are 42 inch side-by-sides with a black dispenser. The ZISS one is the stainless steel version, and we confirm which one you have on the label before we order parts.
