Microwave & Advantium Repair in Houston
Monogram microwaves include built-in and drawer models, plus Advantium speed ovens that combine a microwave with high-intensity light. We repair units that do not heat, spark, stop mid-cycle or lose their display, and we check the door and power first.
Common microwave & advantium problems we fix
In the order we see them across Houston homes.
Display works but nothing heats
Sparks or crackling in the cavity
Latch will not catch or release
Light cooking in an Advantium is uneven
Turntable or drawer does not move
Unit trips the breaker when started
The Monogram microwave range includes built-in and drawer microwaves, trim kits for cabinetry, and Advantium speed ovens in wall oven widths. Advantium models use halogen light, microwave energy and convection together, so they have more parts than a plain microwave.
In Houston, steam and grease coat the cavity, the waveguide cover and the door seal, and humid air works at the electronics. Power surges during storms can damage the board or the high-voltage parts, and a worn door seal can make the unit shut itself off as a precaution.
We check the supply, door switches, latch, waveguide cover and cavity first, then test the high-voltage parts safely, with power off and the capacitor discharged. We explain what is confirmed, what still needs proof and what the repair costs before we begin.

Is it safe to use a microwave that sparks?
Stop using it. Sparks may come from a worn cavity liner, a waveguide cover caked with food or stray metal. We inspect the cavity and the cover before the unit is used again.
What is an Advantium oven?
An Advantium oven cooks with halogen light, a microwave and convection, in one cavity. Each system can fail separately, so the sign you see may involve only one of them. We test them one at a time.
Why does my microwave run but not heat?
A dead magnetron, a bad diode, a weak capacitor or a worn door switch can leave the unit running with no heat. High-voltage parts are dangerous to touch, which is why we test them with the unit unplugged and discharged.
