What DEMO Mode means
On Monogram Advantium 240 ZSC2200-series ovens (ZSC2200, ZSC2201 and ZSC2202), DEMO is a sales demonstration mode, not an error. It can be turned on only at the first SELECT CLOCK TIME display after a power outage longer than 60 seconds, by holding POWER/TEMP and START/PAUSE for 3 seconds. You hear 2 short beeps and a DEMO icon lights. No power goes to the heaters, the halogen lamps or the magnetron, so the oven does not cook. This applies to the 240-volt Advantium only.
Common causes of DEMO Mode
- Pads held during the clock-setting display after a power loss
- Showroom setting left on after delivery
- Mode kept through later power losses
1. Check whether the DEMO icon is lit and the display shows SELECT CLOCK TIME. 2. Hold POWER/TEMP and START for 3 seconds at that initial display. 3. Listen for the beeps and look for the DEMO icon to go dark. 4. Set the clock and try a short cook. 5. Call us if the icon returns or the oven still does not heat.
- The mode can only be cleared at the initial clock display
- We check that the oven heats once the mode is off
- A real sensor problem would show a different message

Why is my new oven not heating?
With DEMO active, no power goes to the heaters, lamps or magnetron. The control looks normal, but nothing cooks until the mode is cleared. This is a showroom setting and not a broken part.
Can a power outage turn it on?
An outage of over 60 seconds brings up the initial clock display, which is the only time the mode can be switched. The oven also stays in DEMO after a later power loss.
How do I turn it off?
Hold POWER/TEMP and START for 3 seconds at the initial clock display, the same way it is started. If the display has moved past that point, call us and we will take a look.
Still unsure about DEMO Mode?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
