What LEAK DETECTED means
On Monogram ZDT and ZDP dishwashers with touch controls, such as the ZDT985SPNSS and ZDT800SPFSS, some models include leak detection. When water is sensed where it should not be, the dishwasher drains and cancels the cycle, and the display reads LEAK DETECTED. You will see that message, the wash stopping part way, and possibly water on the floor or in the base. The message is a protective stop, not a normal end of cycle.
Common causes of LEAK DETECTED
- Water collecting in the base of the tub
- Door seal or door edge leaking
- Fill or drain connection weeping under the dishwasher
- Leak sensor reading wet after a past spill
1. Do not run the dishwasher again until it has been looked at. 2. Wipe up any water on the floor around the unit. 3. Check the cabinet under the sink for drips at the supply and drain connections. 4. Contact us for service, as the manual directs, and tell us the model number.
- The message does not show where the water came from, so we trace the door seal, spray arms, hoses and base.
- A sensor that stays wet after a spill looks the same as an active leak until we inspect it.
- We give a written price before repairs, and the work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

What does LEAK DETECTED mean on a Monogram dishwasher?
The dishwasher sensed water where it should not be, drained, and canceled the cycle. Only some ZDT and ZDP models have this protection.
Can I just restart it?
We advise against running it again until the source is found. A cycle on a real leak can spread water into the cabinet and flooring.
What will you check?
We inspect the door seal, spray arms, hose connections and the base of the tub, then confirm the sensor. You get a written price before we start.
Still seeing LEAK DETECTED?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
