What START/RESET Light Flashing means
On Monogram ZBD6800K, ZBD6880K and ZBD6890K top-control dishwashers, a flashing START/RESET light is not an error. It means the cycle was interrupted because START/RESET was pressed. The light stops on its own once the dishwasher has drained the water. After you press START/RESET to cancel and close the door, the pump-out takes about 70 seconds, and then the dishwasher can be programmed again. This is normal behavior for these three models.
Common causes of START/RESET Light Flashing
- Cycle canceled with START/RESET, which is normal
- Door opened during the pump-out
- Power interruption that cleared the earlier selections
- Drain slow because of a clogged filter
1. Close the door and wait about 70 seconds while the dishwasher pumps out. 2. Watch for the light to stop flashing. 3. Make your cycle selections again and press START/RESET to begin. 4. After a power failure, remember NORMAL and HEATED DRY are programmed automatically, so choose what you want before starting. 5. Clean the filter if the light keeps flashing well past two minutes.

Is the flashing START/RESET light a problem?
No. On the ZBD6800 family it only tells you the cycle was canceled and the tub is still pumping out. It stops flashing by itself when the water is gone.
How long should I wait?
About 70 seconds with the door closed after you press START/RESET. If the light is still flashing after a couple of minutes, check the filter and the drain hose, then call us.
Why did my settings change after a power outage?
These models fall back to NORMAL and HEATED DRY when power returns. Just make your selections again and press START/RESET to start the cycle. Nothing is wrong with the control when that happens.
