What Control Lockout Indicator means
On Monogram 30-inch and 36-inch induction cooktops, the ZHU30 and ZHU36 series with models such as the ZHU30RSPSS and ZHU36RSPSS, a lit Control Lock indicator means Cooktop Lockout is on. The lockout locks the controls so touches do nothing. Touch and hold the Control Lock pad for three seconds to lock, and the same three-second touch turns it off. Auto Lock can be set in Custom Settings, which explains why the lock can come on by itself after use.
Common causes of Control Lockout Indicator
- Control lock turned on by hand
- Auto Lock enabled in Custom Settings
- Pad touched for three seconds by cleaning or a cloth
1. Touch the Control Lock pad and hold it for 3 seconds. 2. Watch for the indicator to go out. 3. Try turning on an element. 4. If the indicator stays lit or the pad does not respond, call us.
- If the pad never responds, we cannot tell a stuck pad from a failing touch panel without testing
- We check the glass surface and connections only after the unlock step fails
- We confirm Auto Lock settings before looking at hardware
Other Cooktop codes
Why do my cooktop controls ignore me?
The controls are locked. The Control Lock indicator is lit while Cooktop Lockout is on. Hold the pad for three seconds to turn it off.
Can the cooktop lock itself?
Yes, if Auto Lock is enabled in Custom Settings. It is a convenience for cleaning and for households with children, and you can turn it off there.
What if holding the pad does nothing?
Wipe the glass dry, make sure no pan or cloth is touching the controls, and try again. If it still ignores you, we check the touch panel.
