What F2 means
On Monogram 30-inch single and double convection wall ovens in the ZET1 and ZET2 series, such as the ZET1PL1SS and ZET2SL1SS, F2 is logged when the sensor reads an oven cavity temperature above 650 degrees F in a normal mode, or above 915 degrees F while the door is latched for self-clean. The oven shuts the heating down when this happens. You will see F2 on the display and the oven stops heating. Documented origins are welded relay contacts on the relay board, restricted airflow to the rear of the unit, or high resistance in the sensor leads and connectors.
Common causes of F2
- Relay contacts stuck closed on the relay board
- Restricted airflow at the rear of the oven
- High resistance in the oven sensor leads or connectors
- Oven used right after a very hot cycle
1. Turn the oven off and leave the door closed until it is completely cool. 2. Check that nothing blocks the vent or the cabinet opening around the oven. 3. Remove foil or liners that cover the oven floor or racks. 4. If F2 appears again, stop using the oven and call us.
- Three different causes produce the same F2, so we test the relay contacts, the airflow path and the sensor wiring one at a time.
- A relay that sticks on can keep heating, which is why we do not advise repeated restarts.
- You get a written price before work, and our repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.

What temperatures trigger F2?
The control logs it when the cavity sensor reads over 650 degrees F in cooking use, or over 915 degrees F during a latched self-clean. The oven then stops heating.
Is the oven safe to keep using?
Let it cool first. If F2 returns, stop using it. A stuck relay can overheat the cavity.
What do you inspect?
We check the relay board contacts, rear airflow and sensor wiring, then quote in writing.
Still seeing F2?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
