What F9 means
Shown as F9, this is the single error that Monogram 30-inch single and double convection wall ovens in the ZET1 and ZET2 series, such as the ZET1PL1SS and ZET2SL1SS ever displays to the owner. It means the cooling fan stalled or something else opened the thermal switch, a low-voltage switch on the power vent assembly. The control stops heating when that happens. You will see F9 on the display and a hot oven that no longer cooks. Restricted airflow to the control area is one of the documented causes.
Common causes of F9
- Cooling fan stalled or slow
- Low-voltage thermal switch open on the power vent assembly
- Airflow to the control area restricted
- Relay board if fan, switch and airflow are fine
1. Turn the oven off and let it cool for one hour. 2. Turn power off at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore it. 3. Make sure the vent and the cabinet opening are clear. 4. If F9 comes back, call us for service.
- We test the fan, the thermal switch and airflow in sequence, because the relay board is replaced only after those check out.
- We look at whether the vent path is blocked by trim or cabinet work.
- You get a written price first, and repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Is F9 the same as a door latch error?
No. Door latch errors are FC on these ovens. F9 is about the cooling fan and thermal switch.
What is the thermal switch?
It is a low-voltage switch on the power vent assembly that opens when the area runs too hot. That is why a stalled fan triggers it.
How long should I wait?
Cool the oven for one hour before reuse. If it repeats, call us and we test the fan first.
Still seeing F9?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
