What FC means
On Monogram 30-inch single and double convection wall ovens in the ZET1 and ZET2 series, such as the ZET1PL1SS and ZET2SL1SS, FC is the door latch error. The control cannot confirm that the latch and its switches are working as expected, so it refuses to treat the door as safely locked. The same entry appears on the ZGP platform. You may see the oven refuse to start a self-clean, stop a cycle, or fail to unlock the door afterward, even though the latch looks normal from outside.
Common causes of FC
- Door latch switch not reporting correctly
- Latch mechanism sticking
- Wiring or circuitry to the latch
- Door not seating fully against the frame
1. Shut the oven off and wait until the cavity is cool. 2. Look for foil, racks or a pan edge keeping the door from closing. 3. Close the door and try the function again. 4. If FC returns, leave the door alone and call us.
- We inspect the latch and its circuitry, and replace the latch only if its switches are defective.
- A door that does not seat fully can look like a latch problem, so we check alignment too.
- You receive a written price first, with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Wall Oven codes
What does FC mean?
It is the door latch error. The control cannot verify the latch, so it stops functions that need a secure door.
Is it the same as F9?
No. F9 is a cooling fan and thermal switch problem. FC is the latch circuit.
Will you replace the latch?
Only if its switches test defective. We check circuitry and fit first, then quote.
Still seeing FC?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
