What C1 means
On Monogram 30-inch single and double convection wall ovens in the ZET1 and ZET2 series, such as the ZET1PL1SS and ZET2SL1SS, C1 records that the control lost communication with the upper relay board, the board that switches the heating elements for the upper oven. C1 is stored and not shown to the owner. You may notice the upper oven not heating, heating only some elements, or the whole oven failing to start. A harness check is the first step in finding the cause.
Common causes of C1
- Loose harness to the upper relay board
- Upper relay board no longer answering
- Control board communication output
- Damaged wiring between the boards
1. Put the oven in its off position and let it cool down. 2. Wait a few minutes, then try a simple bake. 3. Note which oven cavity misbehaves, upper or lower. 4. If it fails again, call us and tell us which oven it was and what you saw.
- We start with the harness plugs, since a loose connector looks like a dead board.
- If the connection is sound, we test the relay board before replacing it.
- We give a written price first, and the work has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Wall Oven codes
What does C1 mean?
The control has lost contact with the upper relay board. It is stored in memory and not displayed.
Does it affect the lower oven?
On a double oven it may, depending on the wiring, but C1 itself points to the upper side.
What is checked first?
The harness, then the relay board. A board is replaced only when it tests bad.
Still seeing C1?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
