What Prod means
Prod is the factory test mode on Monogram ZGP professional gas ranges, such as the ZGP364ND. It appears if the Push To Select knob is held for about three seconds within the first two minutes after power-up, and the display shows Prod. The mode runs the end-of-line sequence that tests the range's parts one after another, and the sequence cannot be paused. Holding the knob for three seconds again exits it. It is a technician mode, not something owners need.
Common causes of Prod
- Knob held during the first two minutes after power was restored
- Test sequence started by accident
- A technician mode left running
1. Do not use any function while Prod is showing. 2. Hold the Push To Select knob for about three seconds to exit. 3. Turn the oven off if the display does not clear. 4. Call us if the range keeps entering Prod.
- Pressing the knob right after power returns can start this mode, and the cause is usually a habit rather than a defect
- A knob switch that sticks could enter the mode repeatedly, which we would test
- The test sequence runs loads on its own, so we do not leave it running
Other Professional Range codes
Is Prod an error?
No. It is a test routine used when the range is built or serviced. It runs the parts through a set sequence and is not meant for daily use.
How do I get out of it?
Hold the Push To Select knob for about three seconds, which is the same hold that enters it. If the display stays, turn the oven off and call us.
Why did it start when I turned the power on?
The mode can be entered during the first two minutes after power-up if the knob is held. A stuck knob or a quick press while resetting the breaker can do it.
Still unsure about Prod?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
