What SF means
SF is not an error. On Monogram ZGP professional gas ranges such as the ZGP486ND, it is the Special Features menu, reached by pushing and holding the Timer and the Mini-Knob together for four seconds until the display shows SF. From there you can adjust the oven thermostat offset by plus or minus 35 degrees Fahrenheit for bake, convection bake and convection roast, and you can turn on Sabbath mode. The same menu is described in the Monogram ZET wall oven owner's manual.
Common causes of SF
- Menu opened on purpose to change a setting
- Menu opened by holding the Timer and Mini-Knob too long
- An offset left in place that changes oven temperature
1. Follow your owner's manual for the steps to enter and leave SF. 2. Check the offset you have set; zero means no change. 3. Turn Sabbath mode off if you did not intend it. 4. If the oven still bakes unevenly, call us for a temperature check.
- An offset moves the oven's average temperature, so baking can differ even when nothing is broken
- A real calibration problem looks the same as a wrong offset until we measure
- We check the oven sensor and control before touching any offset

Is SF a problem?
No. It is a settings menu, and nothing is wrong when it appears. It simply means the menu was opened, often by holding the keys a little too long.
What can I change in it?
The thermostat offset for bake, convection bake and convection roast, up to 35 degrees either way, and Sabbath mode. Your manual lists the exact steps for your model.
My baking runs hot. Should I use the offset?
Try it only after we confirm the oven is truly off by comparing it with a thermometer. Otherwise a sensor problem can be hidden by a setting.
Still unsure about SF?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
